Passive Aggressive Positivity

zach, 20, native houstonian, current chicagoan. i can be pretty militant in my opinions on GIRLS, gun control, education reform and cats. or at least, that's what you'll find in abundance here. cultivate calm.

Also, I think that the beautiful thing about Cloud Cult’s work, and especially “Light Chasers,” is that it revolves around Craig and Connie coming to terms with their son’s death in really optimistic ways. I read something somewhere about how “Light Chasers” was his journey to find light at the end of the tunnel.

And shit son, that’s powerful. When I saw them live, I kept looking at Connie’s painting and thinking that they really are using art to become more okay with this tragedy. Which, really, is where I think art gets it’s beauty a lot of the time. When there is a core of pain and truth in it, you’re doing something right, you know?

Jesus, I love them. They could have their own religion and I’d convert so fast. Because it’s so easy to get caught up in the darkness of life, but here they are, promoting this light. And they really say it the best:

You were born to chase the light.
